Join our panel for Mental Health Week 2021 as they highlight and acknowledge the importance of mental health in the workplace.
A conversation is just the beginning to looking after yourself and others, and is key to improving your mental health and wellbeing.
With many experiencing even greater isolation as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this webinar aims to raise awareness on the importance of mental health and wellbeing in our personal lives, workplaces and within our networks.
Gerry Doyle, CEO at Tonkin Consulting, will tell his personal story and the motivation behind sharing his experience and work with Consult Australia, as well as his hopes for the future of mental health personally and within industry.
Kerrie Adaway, Director and Principal Consultant at Lysander, will provide insights about the importance of a preventative approach and why addressing individuals’ wellbeing, culture and leadership can result in increased performance and productivity via an improvement in psychological safety, social procurement and inclusion.

Gerry Doyle
Chief Executive Officer, Tonkin
Gerry is the Chief Executive Officer of Tonkin and is responsible for implementation of the organisation’s external strategy and developing ongoing business relationships. He has gained broad and practical experience in the design and project management of water supply and wastewater projects in South Australia. Since being appointed as CEO in 2011, Gerry has been instrumental in spearheading the notable growth and expansion of Tonkin. With a strong focus on building a culture of delivering exceptional outcomes, Gerry’s skill for bringing the right people together coupled with his strategic insights makes him a remarkable business leader.
Gerry has been on the Board of Consult Australia for four years, including one year as deputy president, and in that time, he has made a significant contribution to putting the spotlight on mental health issues in the workplace.

Ricky joined Engineers Australia in October 2020 as the EGM of People and Transformation. He has held several HR leadership roles and most recently was the Director – Human Resources for the CSIRO, leading a team of more than 100 across Australia. Ricky's strong business acumen and track record of delivering impact has positioned him to be a valued business partner across many industries including research and development, technology and the public sector. He has a strong focus on driving business outcomes through shaping organisational culture, developing high performing teams and creating exceptional employee experiences.
He is responsible for the People function, Internal Communications and Engineers Australia’s new business Transformation Program focusing on key themes (customer experience, culture, new ways of working and operational excellence) to future proof and respond to the ever changing environment we operate in so that we can achieve our purpose to advance society through great engineering. Ricky is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Directors and holds a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) with Honours.
