Accelerated bridge construction using 'Bridge Deck Erection Equipment (BDE)'

Accelerated bridge construction helps to shorten programs, to save resources and to reduce risks. It requires a coordinated approach and interface management between the bridge design and the design of the temporary works and the equipment. This presentation will explain this process, including:

Classification of bridge types and their decks.

Available deck construction methods.

What are temporary works.

What Equipment can be used to build bridge decks.

What decisions need to be made at early stages of design and planning.

How to specify temporary works and special equipment for a project.

Introduction of the Temporary Works Forum (TWf AU), a community of practice of Engineers Australia.

The webinar is hosted by the Civil and Structural Panel Sydney.
