Low carbon concrete - pushing the boundaries and setting project targets

Global surface temperatures have increased 1.1°C above what they were in 1850-1900, unequivocally caused by human activities that emit greenhouse gases. The Greenhouse Gas Protocol was developed to define categories of carbon emissions, and through this, Laing O’Rourke have taken a leading position to influence carbon reduction.

Throughout the session the speaker will provide insight into Laing O’Rourke’s newly set and published Concrete Carbon Limits by sharing the process for target creation and expectations for future projects. Our speaker will discuss the ‘maximum tolerance’ of carbon emissions for procured concrete and the threshold new projects will be measured against.

This session is relevant to construction engineers, designers, suppliers and asset owners that are looking to reduce carbon intensity in infrastructure. This webinar forms part of the Construction series of CPD.
