Structural Engineering in Crisis
Forensic engineers are the canaries in the coal mine when it comes to structural engineering and modern building techniques. Many forensic experts agree that structural engineering is currently in crisis, but rather than going all quiet and falling off his perch, Mal Wilson has elected to give a technical presentation. He will outline some common mistakes that should never be made, as well as some uncommon ones that we all might have made in the day-to-day rush of getting the documents out the door.
Forensic engineers have the privilege of learning important lessons from the mistakes of some of our unfortunate colleagues, but with that privilege comes a responsibility to disseminate those lessons so we can all stay out of trouble and keep the wider community safe..
