Principal, Blackash Bushfire Consulting Pty
Corey is a Principal with Blackash Bushfire Consulting Pty Ltd, a role he has had since December 2020. Prior to that Corey spent 14 years with the NSW Rural Fire Service, serving in the capacities of Development Assessment & Planning Officer, Team Leader Assessments, Manager Planning & Environment Services (Assessments) and Director Community Resilience. His education and career has seen Corey as a leader in the field of bush fire protection and associated land-use planning regulations and compliance as well as performance-based bush fire protection design and strategic planning. As Director Community Resilience he was responsible for oversight and strategic direction of Bush Fire Behaviour and Predicative Services, Risk Planning, Hazard Complaints and Mitigation, the Environmental Code, the reformed Fire Danger Ratings Program, Bush Fire Prone Land Mapping and Development Control Policy Programs. Corey holds a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management from Newcastle University
Manager Development Planning & Policy , NSW Rural Fire Service
David is the Manager Development Planning & Policy NSW Rural Fire Service, a role he has been responsible for since July 2009. In his role he has been responsible for oversight and administration of bush fire building protection and associated land-use planning controls from policy and regulatory perspectives. This also includes oversight of the Bush Fire Prone Land Mapping Program. David has also previously been responsible for oversight of bush fire protection and land-use planning review, assessment and approvals for the NSW Rural Fire Service. David is a Registered Professional Chartered Engineer with Engineers Australia and has previously worked as a Fire Engineering consultant and Fire Engineer with the then NSW Fire Brigades.
