Strategic leadership for engineers shaping Victorias infrastructure future
Victoria’s infrastructure landscape is dynamic, complex, and vital to the state’s prosperity. This event, hosted by the EA College of Leadership and Management, will explore the strategic leadership skills engineers need to navigate this evolving environment.
The evening will feature a keynote address from Eloise Modun, Director of Research and Policy at Infrastructure Victoria, followed by a high-calibre panel discussion with leading engineering and infrastructure experts. Together, they will unpack how engineers can evolve from technical contributors to strategic leaders who shape the future of infrastructure.
In this event, you will:
understand the shift from manager to leader: explore the differences between managing processes and leading with vision and influence, with a focus on building strong teams and empowering others
navigate complexity and stakeholders: learn strategies for engaging effectively with diverse stakeholders and using leadership as a navigation tool rather than command-and-control
harness evidence, data, and engagement: discover how data and stakeholder input form the foundation of Infrastructure Victoria’s recommendations and how evidence underpins strategic decision-making,
balance competing priorities within fiscal constraints: gain insights into how economic modelling and cost-benefit analysis guide tough infrastructure decisions in the face of limited resources.
