Early Career CPD: guidance on CVs, LinkedIn and AI

The session focuses on practical insight into how hiring decisions are made, from initial screening through to recruiter review, with an emphasis on clarity, credibility and authenticity. The session will bring together complementary perspectives; sharing insights into internal hiring processes, including CV screening, applicant tracking systems and how early career candidates are assessed within organisations, and another providing an external recruitment perspective, focusing on market expectations, how CVs and LinkedIn profiles are evaluated, what signals credibility to recruiters, and how candidates can stand out in competitive applicant pools.

The overall goal is to provide practical, honest guidance that early career engineers can immediately apply, helping them navigate modern hiring processes with confidence while presenting their skills and experiences in a clear, human and credible way.
