Thought Leaders Series: Innovative engineering with cold form steel frames and DfMA
The Northside Clinic in St Leonards project saw D&C builders, Erilyan, in collaboration with CFS fabricators, Austruss and Barnson Engineering Group, adopt a solutions-focused approach from the design to installation, to overcome the engineering and logistical hurdles in this project.
The innovative Design for Manufacture and Assembly approach (DfMA) was taken, which allowed large sections of the near-complete façades to be externally craned into position. The façade frames were prefabricated and assembled at the manufacturing site, to be disassembled and transported to site, where it was reassembled with the cladding materials and finally craned into position for installation – resulting in a successful installation of an 8th floor without the need for scaffolding.
Join the experts from this project, as they discuss the DfMA approach taken whilst diving into how cold formed steel was deployed structurally within the build.
