This event will discuss the current status of electrical building technologies and drivers for change including global warming and the move to renewable energy supply sources. It will also explore the regulatory barriers, constraints, and requirements for existing and future building developments to integrate electrical energy storage and microgrids. Specifically, the presentation will review ICT and electrical trends and emerging technologies for the built environment in five parts: What are the drivers for ‘smart’ built environment? The key works being undertaken by Standard bodies for the interconnect, interfacing and sustainment of built environment technologies. What are the new developments and emerging technologies that will impact the built environment. The new changes to the Australian Regulatory environment. Discussion on key technologies including microgrids, BMS/BAS, lighting systems, IoT, Artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), IT/OT networks, Wi-Fi and DAS within the built environment. The final discussion will be on what is a sustainable “Smart” building>
